Rwanda Dukunde Kawa

Grown in the Gadenke Region in the northern mountains of the country, this lovely Bourbon variety is chock full of body while imparting a bold, rich texture and a sweet juiciness typical in African beans.  Hints of warm baked goods like gingerbread and molasses cookies, with notes of butterscotch and dark chocolate, accented by a hint of honey citrus, and raisin.
 
Fair Trade and Organic.  More than 80% of the farms in this co-op are run by women and women are given a prominent roles in the entire coffee production process, from cultivating the beans to crafting the final brew. By championing the economic empowerment of women in the coffee industry, this co-op uplifts their status within their communities and the broader supply chain.
